Designers: Stuart Melrose

The 100% Futures exhibition at Earls Court, London, 2007, saw the world launch of Stuart Melrose™. The stand showcased a collection of work utilising the latest fabrication methods to produce pieces with stunning inlays, laminates and graphical inserts, including furniture designs made with DuPont™ Corian®. Stuart Melrose's work is mostly made to order offering the option of customising colour, size, shape etc.

"Corian® was chosen for many reasons for this range…for its choice of colours, intrinsic beauty and durability (so the pieces can be used both inside and outside the home) but mostly for its amazing properties for fabrication and manufacture. For instance, it’s ease of forming, cutting and finishing, plus great hardness and strength.
I am a designer that likes to break from the norm and push the boundaries and the material has enabled me to realise a range of bright and sharp graphical pieces that I would not have been able to achieve with other materials."
